3. Der Aufbruch

Am Sonntagmorgen haben wir uns alle um 4:45 Uhr am Koblenzer Hauptbahnhof getroffen. Ab 5:30 Uhr ging es dann mit dem Zug nach Frankfurt und von da aus nach München. Leider gab es immer wieder Probleme auf der Strecke und wir haben den Zug nach Vicenza nicht mehr bekommen, daher mussten wir in Verona einen Bus organisieren. Zwei Stunden später kamen wir endlich am Bahnhof in Vicenza an. Dort haben uns Alessandra von EUROCULTURA und Jessica, eine examinierte Erzieherin der BBS Alice Salomon, die aktuell ein Praxisjahr über Erasmus in Vicenza macht, abgeholt und uns willkommen geheißen. Danach sind die einzelnen Gruppen in ihre Häuser gegangen. Haus 1 war mit Essen bereits versorgt und Haus 2 war mit Frau Simon und Herr Kaiser in einem kleinen Restaurant in der Nähe essen.

We met as planned at 4:45 in the morning at the central station in Koblenz. All went well so far, as we got to our seats and the train took off at 5:30. Our first destination was Frankfurt, but as every trip with the Deutsche Bahn has a few surprises in stock, we experienced a few hiccups. Two police investigations prior to our arrival in Frankfurt delayed us a bit, followed by another delay between Frankfurt an Munich. Due to these we missed our follow up train from Munich to Verona and were forced to wait for the next one. While waiting we got us some snacks and then took the next train, this would be the longest part of the journey. We passed the astounding Austrian scenery, taking in the mountains, snacking some more, playing UNO, sleeping or chatting away, till we arrived in Verona at 8:00 in the evening. Exhausted, but not done yet, we had to improvise our bus ride to Vicenza, Eleonora took the brunt of the responsibility, clarifying all that we needed to know with the personnel at the train station. The ride itself took another two hours. It was already 10:00 pm, as we finally arrived in front of Vicenza´s station, a small team from EUROCULTURA bid us welcome and made sure each group would arrive safe and sound at their lodgings. Each taking in a well deserved meal and falling exhaustedly into their beds.

Ci siamo incontrati come previsto alle 4:45 del mattino alla stazione centrale di Coblenza. Tutto è andato bene, perché siamo arrivati ai nostri posti e il treno è partito alle 5:30. La nostra prima destinazione è stata Francoforte, ma poiché ogni viaggio con la Deutsche Bahn riserva qualche sorpresa, abbiamo avuto qualche inconveniente. Due indagini di polizia prima del nostro. A causa di questi ritardi abbiamo perso il treno successivo da Monaco a Verona e siamo stati costretti ad aspettare il successivo. Nell'attesa abbiamo preso qualche snack e poi abbiamo preso il treno successivo, che sarebbe stato la parte più lunga del viaggio. Abbiamo attraversato lo stupefacente paesaggio austriaco, ammirando le montagne, facendo altri spuntini, giocando a UNO, dormendo o chiacchierando, finché non siamo arrivati a Verona alle 8:00 di sera. Esausti, ma non ancora stanchi, abbiamo dovuto improvvisare il nostro viaggio in autobus fino a Vicenza, Eleonora si è assunta il peso della responsabilità, chiarendo tutto ciò che dovevamo sapere con il personale della stazione ferroviaria. Il viaggio è durato altre due ore. Erano già le 22:00, quando finalmente siamo arrivati davanti alla stazione di Vicenza, un piccolo team di Eurocultura ci ha dato il benvenuto e si è assicurata che ogni gruppo arrivasse sano e salvo ai propri alloggi. Ognuno ha consumato un meritato pasto ed è caduto esausto sui propri letti.

Unser Tag startete heute Morgen damit, dass die angehenden Erzieher die Jugendlichen zu ihren Praktikumsstellen begleitet haben. Auf dem Nachhauseweg haben vereinzelt, Betreuer kleine Einkäufe erledigt. In einem Zweierteam wurde eine große Aktivität für das kommende Wochenende geplant. Hierbei geht es als gemeinsame Gruppenaktivität nach und in Venedig. Nach und nach haben die angehenden Erzieher die Jugendlichen wieder an ihren Praktikumstellen abgeholt und sind gemeinsam den Heimweg angetreten. Vor dem gemeinsamen Abendessen haben wir einen Spaziergang durch die Stadt gemacht, um diese zu erkunden. Nach dem Essen, haben wir uns zusammengesetzt, über den Tag gesprochen und die anschließende Zeit mit unseren Gruppen verbracht.

This Monday morning, our day started with trainee educators accompanying the young people to their internships. On the way home, some of the supervisors did some grocery shopping. In one of two teams, a major activity was planned for the coming weekend, which will be a joint group trip to Venice. Gradually, the future educators have picked up the young people again at their work places and started the way home together. Before dinner we took a walk through the city. After dinner, we sat down together, talked about the day and spent the following time with our groups.

La giornata è iniziata questa mattina con gli educatori in formazione che hanno accompagnato i giovani ai loro stage. Sulla via del ritorno, alcuni supervisori hanno fatto un po' di shopping. In una delle due équipe è stata pianificata un'attività importante per il prossimo fine settimana, che sarà una gita di gruppo a Venezia. A poco a poco, i futuri educatori hanno ripreso i giovani nei luoghi di tirocinio e hanno ripreso la strada di casa insieme. Prima di cena abbiamo fatto una passeggiata per la città. Dopo cena, ci siamo seduti insieme, abbiamo parlato della giornata e abbiamo trascorso il tempo successivo con i nostri gruppi.

Heute morgen wurden die letzten Vorstellungsgespräche gemeinsam mit Eurocultura, unseren italienischen Erasmus Partnern vor Ort, bei den Praktikumsbetrieben geführt.
Mittags haben wir dann gemeinsam mit einer Tourguide Vicenza erkundet. Bei der Tour schauten wir uns die Altstadt von Vicenza mit den vielen aus der Renaissance stammenden Sehenswürdigkeiten an. Das Highlight der Tour war der Besuch im Teatro Olimpico, das wohl erste freistehende Theater in der Geschichte der Menschheit.

This morning we concluded the last job interviews at the places of internship with the support of Eurocultura, our Erasmus partners in Italy. At noon we started exploring the historic town center of Vicenza with tour guide. We especially took in the many magnificent sights from the renaissance period. The tour´s highlight though was a visit at Vicenza´s Teatro Olimpico, which was built in the 16th century, and is the first roofed theatre building of it´s kind. There we witnessed a moving light´s show on the stage of the theatre.

Questa mattina abbiamo concluso gli ultimi colloqui di lavoro presso le sedi di tirocinio con il supporto di Eurocultura. Nel pomeriggio abbiamo iniziato a esplorare il centro storico di Vicenza con la guida turistica. Abbiamo potuto vedere soprattutto i numerosi e magnifici edifici del periodo rinascimentale. Il momento culminante del tour è stata la visita al Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, costruito nel 16° secolo e primo teatro coperto. Lì abbiamo assistito a un'emozionante spettacolo di luci sul palco del teatro.

Heute war es soweit. Die Reise nach Venedig stand an. Um 9:20 trafen wir uns alle am Bahnhof in Vicenza und fuhren los. Ungefähr eine Stunde dauert die Fahrt bis wir unser Ziel erreicht haben. Zuvor hatte sich Mohamad vorbereitet, unser Reiseführer für den Tag zu werden. Mohamad führt uns mit Hilfe von Google Maps Tabea und Noah durch Venedig zu seiner ersten kleinen Sehenswürdigkeit, der Basilica dei Frari. Dort legen wir eine kleine Pause ein, um uns Essen zu kaufen. Nachdem sich jeder versorgt hatte, gingen wir durch die engen Gassen von Venedig weiter zu unserem nächsten Ziel, Ponte dell’ Accademia. Von hier hatte man einen schönen Ausblick auf einen breiten Fluss, der sich durch die Stadt zog, ein paar Fotos wurden gemacht und wir liefen weiter zum Markusplatz. Auf dem Weg sahen wir viele Kirchen und Häuser mit wunderschönen Verzierungen und Skulpturen. Am Markusplatz angekommen, bestaunten wir die riesigen Gebäude und die Markuskirche. Ein Gruppenfoto durfte auch nicht fehlen. Dann teilte sich unsere Gruppe auf. Während die eine Gruppe Eis essen war, war die andere Gruppe damit beschäftigt, die Gegend zu erkunden. Die Rialtobrücke war auch eine der Top-10-Sehenswürdigkeiten, die man dort sehen konnte. Es wurden weiter enge Gassen und Gebäude besichtigt. An jedem Fluss waren Gondeln und Vaporetti zu sehen und fast jeder Laden verkaufte die typischen venezianischen Masken. Wir trafen uns alle dann wieder um 15:15 an der ausgemachten Stelle und fuhren wieder zurück. Am Ende des Tages hat ein Teil der Gruppe eine Reflektionsrunde gemacht und Pizza gegessen.

Today was the day. The day of our Venice trip. We met at 9:20 a.m. at the train station in Vicenza, embarking on our one hour trip. Mohammad had previously prepared himself to be our tour guide. With Google Maps, Tabea and Noah to support him he guided us to our first major stop, the Basilica Santa Maria Gloriosa, where we made a short stop to get some food. Continuing along the narrow alleys of Venice we headed to our next stop, the Ponte dell´Academia, from this bridge you can have a wonderful view on the wide canal spanning the city. After this we continued on to the Piazza San Marco. Seeing many churches and beautiful tiny houses decorated with statues and ornaments. Arriving at the Piazza we took in the gorgeous sights, taking a group photo was mandatory at this scenic place. Here the group split. While one went to get some ice cream, the other went on to explore the city further, the Rialto bridge along with it´s famous market was among the explored sights. Passing gondolas, canals, typical souvenir shops and making our way through alleys tight enough to sometimes only walk single file we made our way to our meet up at 15:15 p.m.. Ending the day with a joint dinner in a Vicenza pizzeria and feedback discussion, analysing the day´s plentiful mishaps and it´s highlights.

É arrivato il giorno del nostro viaggio a Venezia. Ci siamo incontrati alle 9.20 alla stazione ferroviaria di Vicenza per intraprendere il nostro viaggio di un'ora. Mohammad si era già preparato per farci da guida turistica. Con Google Maps, Tabea e Noah per aiutarlo, ci ha guidati alla prima tappa importante, la Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa, dove abbiamo fatto una breve sosta per mangiare. Continuando a percorrere le strette vie di Venezia ci siamo diretti verso la nostra tappa successiva, il Ponte dell'Academia, da cui si gode di una splendida vista sull'ampio canale che attraversa la città. Poi abbiamo proseguito fino a Piazza San Marco. Abbiamo visto molte chiese e bellissime case minuscole decorate con statue e ornamenti. Arrivati in Piazza, abbiamo ammirato le splendide vedute, e una foto di gruppo era obbligatoria in questo luogo panoramico. Passando accanto a gondole, canali, negozi di souvenir tipici e facendoci strada attraverso vicoli stretti stretti, tanto da poter camminare a volte in fila indiana, ci siamo incamminati verso il nostro incontro alle 15.15. La giornata si è conclusa con una cena comune in una pizzeria di Vicenza e con una discussione di feedback, analizzando le numerose disavventure e i punti salienti della giornata.
